JOINT MEETING WITH IGWE AND HIS CABINET ON 5TH JUNE 2010

JOINT MEETING WITH IGWE AND HIS CABINET ON 5TH JUNE 2010

Agenda
Cottage Hospital
Comments/Amendment by Igwe and council on the Land lease agreement
1. The frontage of the hospital should be Amankwo Road and not Ugwudere as specified in the agreement plan.

2. The beneficiaries of the employment opportunity implied to Obuna and the town union of Amankwo Oghe and not Amankwo in general. It should be corrected to imply Obuna and Amankwo Oghe in general.

3. That the town union over used the authority letter giving to them by the Igwe and council, by not consulting the Igwe and council before making an agreement with the Oghe Social Development Association

4. The signatories should have included the three autonomous communities in Amankwo and not too many signatures from Obuna Clan.
5. That our Lawyer supposes to be involved in the making of the agreement
6. Igwe should be the final endorsement and not the first.

Igwe said there are too many signatories in the agreement. That the chiefs representing Obuna should have only be the signatories and that he would have involved the Igwe’s in Oghe to sign the agreement so that it will be noted that Amankwo donated this land for Oghe in general.

Christopher Ozomma suggested that the agreement should have been between the Amankwo and Oghe social development authority and not the Obuna and Oghe social development association. After which Amankwo will now make agreement with Obuna.

The president spoke on behalf of the town union and apologized for not informing the council before hand on the agreement. He explained while the lease bears Obuna and not Amankwo. He said that if it bears Amankwo then after the 99yrs it will be returned to Amankwo and not Obuna.

The president pleaded with Igwe in council to speed up the signing, he told them to overlook any minor issues in the agreement. He informed them on how other communities in Oghe are envying us, especially the Akama community, who for the greater percentage of the association. Based on that situation on ground, we do not need to play with the golden opportunity, so that other communities who are willing to donate land will not outsmart us.

After all said and done, H.R.H, Igwe C.C Obueke gave the town union president authority to look into the whole issue, as an expert in the field, and do the necessary amendments. He promised to sign the document after the amendments.

A letter came from Ezeagu North Development Authority, requesting for six hectares of land from our community, which will be used for a building material market. It was agreed right there at the joint meeting that we will give them land but the quantity and location will be decided when they come. The Town Union Secretary was instructed to respond to the letter on behalf of the Igwe in council and the Town union.
