An appeal letter to parents to enroll their children in the government primary schools

9th July, 2011.

Mr., Mrs., Chief _______________________________________

Dear Sir,
Enroll your children/wards in our government schools.

The town union wishes to appeal to you to enroll your children/wards in the government primary schools in Amankwo.

Reports reaching the town union reveal that most of our people have withdrawn their children/wards from the government primary schools to the private schools. The resultant effect of this attitude is that the primary schools both at Amankwo Imezi and Ndiagu will one day be a mere history, as the government may close them, based on insignificant number of pupils. God forbid.

Our findings reveal that the action of the parents was based on the fact that pupils are no longer receiving adequate lessons in the government schools, as there are not enough teachers and the few that were engaged do come to school when they like.

The town union in a bid to tackle this ugly development has charged itself with the task of ensuring adequate learning in our government schools. We shall achieve this by making frantic effort to get adequate number of teachers for our schools. We shall also monitor the teachers engaged in our schools to ensure they do their job assiduously.
We are also making plans to device means of funding befitting incentives to the pupils as well as performing teachers in the schools.

We want to use this medium to inform you that the government schools are far better than the proliferated private schools, in terms of quality teachers and it is cheaper. Government never engages unqualified teachers. Private schools engage only those they can afford to pay with no emphasis on their qualifications.

We shall be happy to witness large turn out of pupils in our government schools by the beginning of next term.

Yours faithfully,

Engr. Silas Anonde
Secretary General
