TOWN UNION MEETING OF 2ND SEPTEMBER 2012

TOWN UNION MEETING OF 2ND SEPTEMBER 2012 The meeting was held at Amankwo Ndiagu Primary School Opening prayer was said by the president at about 2.15pm. The minutes of the previous meeting was read by the vice president, Mr. Innocent Okechukwu, as the secretary was unavoidable absent. The only omission from the previous minutes was that production of receipts was discussed and the contract was handed over to Mr. Michael Ozormadu. He Mr. Michael Ozormadu produced the receipts free of charge. Chieftaincy issue Mr. Innocent Okechukwu explained that some wards has submitted names of their nominees for chieftaincy title. Mr. Nwabueze Chijioke suggested visiting the wards on their meeting days as an alternative means of collecting names of their nominees. On the information that Igwe C.C Obueke is proposing to confer chieftaincy titles on some citizens on October 2012, it was ruled that Igwe should be written, through the cabinet secretary, dissociating the town union from the arrangement and declaring it unacceptable. The letter should be copied to the Local Government Chairman and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ezeagu Local Government. On the issue of New town union representatives and election of excutives The president general said there is need to create enough publicity to ensure proper participation of our elites who will be capable of continuing from where the present leadership will stop so as to move the community ahead. Bore hole at Amankwo Imezi Primary School Mr. Innocent Okechukwu, reporting on behalf of the committee, said they have met with the Managing Director of Enugu State Water Cooperation and the M.D, Mr. Obrien Ofordi, assured us that he will do something positively to ensure we have the borehole completed. Information The president General informed us that the national assembly has approved the construction of Amankwo Road and advised that the Town union should write the Deputy Senate president thanking him for that. MTN mast at Amankwo Ndiagu. It was realized that MTN Nigeria has the intention of coming to construct mast at Amankwo Ndiagu, through the ward chairman Mr. Samuel Ikwuezeagu. It was ruled that the people should be directed to the town union for the facilitation and appreciation of the process. The meeting was adjourned by 3.02pm with a closing prayer said by Mr. Lawrence Offor.
