TOWN UNION MEETING OF 5th DECEMBER 2010

TOWN UNION MEETING OF 5TH DECEMBER 2010
This meeting was held at Amankwo Imezi Primary School Hall

Opening prayer was said by Mr Alizor at about 01.10pm. This meeting was presided over by the vice president as the president was unable to attend due to ill health. The secretary read the past minutes of November meeting.
The only correction made on the minutes was that the people we treated their letter was Amankwo Ndiagu Neighbourhood and not chiefs as was wrongly mentioned in the minutes. This observation was made by Mr. Charley Igboeli.
Motion for adoption was moved by Callistus Anidiobu seconded by Charley Igboeli.

The vice president told the house that the delay in concluding the constitution was due to some of the groups that have not finished working on it, especially, the Lagos branch, that been in contact with the committee and requested for a little more time to enable them send their review. The constitution committee sec. asked the house to bring in their inputs from their various wards. No body turned in any correction/review. However, Eng. Silas Anonde representing Izama na Etiti ward said their ward has read the draft constitution and they are in conformity with the good job of the town union. Some other representatives like, Mr. Agudiebube, said their wards were not through with the draft constitution. It was ruled that any ward or groups who have anything to contribute in the ongoing constitution should hurry up and turn in whatever review they have made within one week, as the committee will surely round up within 2 weeks.

The letters that the secretary was asked to write during the last meeting has been written.
It was leant from Charley Igboeli that the Amankwo Ndiagu Neighbourhood watch has not elected any body as their leader to replace the chief as directed by the town union, but promised to do so.

The honorable Councilor Mr. Festus Magbo briefed the house on the discussions held by the executive members at Enugu on Saturday the penultimate day, for rectification by the general house. First, is to hold a general assembly meeting by 27th Dec. 2010 to discuss on the way forward and the hosting of Abuja people that are coming to do the opening ceremony of the Cottage hospital and other issues including forming a stake holder’s meeting. The house approved that there will be the general assembly meeting on December 27th 2010 and the time shall be 1.00pm prompt
Information shall be circulated through a circular and by using public address announcer to inform people of the meeting

He also informed the house on the road project and said he has come to inspect the project with the Local government chairman and that the chairman has promised to revisit the areas that require further attention, like more latrite and erosion diversions where necessary. It was observed that some structures too close to the road did not allow the road grading project to take uniform wide shape as planned, especially towards the major road at Afor Oghe.

The councilor also used that opportunity to campaign for support to their government, so as to get more dividends of democracy for the community, as there are oppositions in politics.

Mr. Livinus Emehelu asked the councilor about the bore- hole. The councilor said that work will start on it by next year.
